Tule isn’t just a plant; it’s woven into our stories, homes, and futures. Used for cordage, basketry, canoes, clothing, ceremonial houses, acorn granaries, mats—and even as food—tule is a living connector between land, water, and people. It cleans our waterways, shelters birds and animals, prevents erosion, and has long provided refuge and protection for humans in times of need.
Come learn hands-on about traditional tule harvesting and its many uses. This is a space for all ages and backgrounds to connect, share stories, and build relationships rooted in respect for land and Indigenous knowledge.
How To Prepare: Please bring water bottle, hat, sunscreen, wear light clothing to protect from the elements - long pants and long sleeves recommended. Please be tick aware. If you wish, please bring a pair of gloves and clippers.
