Rematriating song, the Alliance brings Indigenous artists together to release “Tamal Liwa”

Over the last two years, through a series of gatherings on the rematriation of song, we carried a dream forward. With the birds, the waves, and the ancestors as collaborators, this original song - Tamal Liwa - came together in a single morning, then was tended until the ancestors said it was ready. We dedicate it to all the "Tomales Bay Indians" who once lived and fished on Tamal liwa, descendants of nearly 800 generations of Támal-ko relatives. With too many Támal-ko generations denied to live in their home on the cove, we answer the call of our ancestors to come home.
